The reaction mechanism of Magnesium Hydroxide flue gas desulfurization method is to use magnesium hydroxide and sulfur dioxide dissolved in water to carry out acid-base neutralization reaction of sulfite solution, and then the magnesium sulfite and magnesium sulfate generated after recycling sulfur dioxide for reuse or forced oxidation of all of them into magnesium sulfate made of sulfate. More stable magnesium sulfate can be prepared by further oxidation of magnesium sulfite by by-product.
Main advantages of the process:
As a desulfurizer, magnesium hydroxide is one of the magnesium base wet desulfurization process, so the method has various advantages of magnesium base desulfurization process.
High desulfurization efficiency. In terms of chemical reaction activity, magnesium hydroxide is far greater than calcium based desulfurizer. Generally, the desulfurization efficiency of magnesium hydroxide can reach more than 95-98%%, while the desulfurization efficiency of limestone gypsum method is only about 90%.
Other conditions being equal, the desulfurization efficiency of magnesium hydroxide is higher than that of calcium base. Low investment cost, low operation cost, the preparation process of desulfurizer is simplified.
The solubility of magnesium sulfate and magnesium sulfite produced by Magnesium Hydroxide Desulfurization is about times higher than that of calcium sulfate and calcium sulfite, so there is no precipitation, pipe blockage, scaling and other problems, the system is simplified, and the cost of equipment maintenance is reduced.
At the same time, the sale of Magnesium Oxide by-products can offset a large part of the cost. The system investment is lower than that of limestone wet process, the power consumption is half, and the comprehensive desulfurization cost is lower than that of limestone wet process. The reaction products of desulphurization are magnesium sulfite and magnesium sulfate, which are important chemical products and compound fertilizer additives and have high comprehensive utilization value. At the same time, the value is controlled between one. Under this condition, the corrosion problem of equipment is also solved to a certain extent.
