Fused magnesia is mainly made of magnesite with 47% content and fused in electric arc furnace. The chemical indexes of fused magnesia can be divided into six major items. 1, Magnesium Oxide content; 2. Silica content; 3, iron oxide content; 4, aluminum oxide content; 5, caustic soda; 6, body density; Fused magnesia products have high purity, large crystal particles, compact structure, strong slag resistance material, good thermal shock stability, is an excellent high temperature electrical insulation material, is also an important raw material for high-grade magnesia bricks, magnesia carbon bricks and amorphous refractory materials.
Main characteristics of fused magnesia products: Fused magnesia products are characterized by complete structure, compact structure, high melting point (2800 ℃), stable chemical performance, compression strength, insulation performance is strong, erosion resistance, corrosion resistance, is metallurgy, building materials, light industry, lining and the loose material, the important raw materials for steel, cement, glass, non-ferrous metal smelting and other industries indispensable important refractory material.
The main uses of fused magnesia: fused magnesia can be used as auxiliary refractory materials such as injection filler, ramming material and special refractory bricks such as flow steel mouth brick, magnesia brick, magnesia chrome brick, etc. It can also be used as refractory lining in vacuum and non-vacuum induction furnace and electric arc furnace. It is the ideal raw material for making magnesium oxide crucible, furnace liner and various high temperature bushing.
